By Brandon Caudill
Lead Pastor, Voyager Church
Due to the unforeseen craziness of life, I have been unable to write and publish a complete newsletter this month. So, I have decided to share with you the encouraging, gospel-rich lyrics of a new favorite hymn of mine, Come Behold The Wondrous Mystery. There is also a video included for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully this hymn will comfort and encourage you as it has me in these recent days. Also, you will find a complete ministry report for the month of April and updated prayer needs below. As always, thank you for your faithful prayers and support of the Voyager Church team.
Took on flesh to ransom us
Of the law; in Him we stand
Grace unmeasured, love untold
As we will be when he comes
April Ministry News and Prayer Needs
April 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th: The Voyager Church core community continued meeting each Sunday morning at Lakota Hills Baptist Church. Please pray for God to continue to grow, protect, and strengthen our group as we continue our series, “Church Alive: A Study of Ephesians.”
April 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th: The Voyager Church pastoral team remained involved on Tuesday nights in the local mentoring program provided by our friends at Cincinnati Urban Promise. Each week, Brandon, Joel, and Kyle are blessed to hang out with boys from our area of the city (many of whom have no father) and model for them what it means to be a Christ-centered man. This has led to the development of great relationships with these children and their families and has presented numerous opportunities to share the gospel. Please pray for our pastors and their students as they finish this program May 23rd.
April 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th: The weekly Voyager Church Hinge Group continued to gather each Wednesday evening in April at the Caudill home. Our Hinge Group shares meals, studies the Word, bears one another’s burdens, prays for one another, prays for others, holds one another accountable, and intentionally exposes our unbelieving neighbors to the gospel through word and deed. Please pray for us to be inviting of our neighbors as we continue these weekly gatherings in our homes. Also, please pray that we can begin a second Hinge Group on a different night of the week before the end of summer.
April 8th: Tiffany and Candace began attending a local Bible study with ladies from our neighborhood. Please pray for them to build strong relationships with these ladies and that each lady involved with this study will grow in the grace and knowledge Christ.
April 11th: The Voyager Church core community took to the streets of Northside for a neighborhood “fun day.” We had an amazing time visiting local businesses, restaurants, and parks, all in an effort to meet new people and grow in community with one another.
April 16th: Pastor Brandon and Candace were able to attend an informational luncheon at the facilities A Child’s Hope International. Based in Cincinnati, A Child’s Hope International seeks to motivate and mobilize the church and community to care for orphans and vulnerable children through adoption, foster care, orphan care and humanitarian relief. Voyager Church looks forward to a fruitful partnership with this local ministry as we work to fulfill God’s global command to make disciples and care for “the least of these.”
April 19th: Pastor Brandon had the opportunity to preach at Lake Spring Baptist Church in Franklin, KY. As the official Sending Church of Voyager Church, the Caudill family was excited to visit with family and friends at Lake Spring and share about what God is doing in Cincinnati.
April 20th, 27th: Pastor Brandon and Candace completed the final two installments of their foster care training with Focus on Youth in Cincinnati. They are now in the process of completing their final paperwork and interviews before licensure. They anticipate this process to be complete by the fall of 2015. Please continue to pray for Brandon, Candace, Zoe, and Asa as they work through the remainder of this process and await the growth of their family through foster care and adoption.
April 25th: Pastor Brandon and Candace were blessed to attend a missions expo in Tazewell, TN hosted by the Claiborne Baptist Association. They were able to share with numerous people not only the vision of Voyager Church, but also the vision of the North American Mission Board to reach Cincinnati through the Send North America strategy. Please pray for fruitful partnerships to emerge from this event and that more Cincinnati residents will be reached with the gospel through the planting of numerous churches.
